We needed a hotel in Lampang for my wife's daughters wedding and chose Smaids Room being close to a relative. At £14 a night for bed and breakfast for two the hotel is excellent value for money. However, the hotel is some distance from the centre of Lampang and so a car is needed. If you are travelling by car or motorbike and want accommodation near Lampang then we could recommend Smaids room

Hotel seemed a little out the way and didn’t look like a pleasant walk back to where there seemed like some activity. Actual hotel was nice though, clean big room with good bathroom. On the negative side, was very limited breakfast options.

A very mixed bag! The staff (all women) are charming. The rooms are very nice for the money...spacious, modern and clean. The bed is soft and super-comfortable. But the sliding door to room with cheap lock is poor security. The breakfast is totally inadequate. A vegetable omelette (the same every day). Plus a few bits of pineapple the first day - the next day no fruit was offered at all. Bread for toast (OK if you eat bread). Cold tea or instant coffee. The location is bad. Deep in narrow, winding, blind-bend village streets, and there is an active building site right nest to the open-only breakfast area. It might be OK value when the building next door is finished, and if they get their act together with breakfast. But right now, I would definitely not stay again.

We really enjoyed Smaids Room. The space was very clean, bed comfortable, room was spacious, bathroom is nice. We got a corner room upstairs and really liked it. There is a little fridge/freezer, place to hang/store clothes and a sitting area and table. TV didn't have any English channels but that didn't bother us. My only negative feedback is there is a weird sewage smell that comes from the bathroom, especially after using the shower. And I would have liked if there was a table light or something, as the lights are all on or all off. However, we would stay here again! It is outside of the city center but we loved that aspect and rented a scooter right from the property and loved riding the back streets into town. I would recommend this place.

I can't say enough nice things about this place, it is clean(first day I saw line of ants in my room, I didnt mention it to staff, but next day after they cleaned the room it was gone), the staff/owners are *very* accommodating and nice (they asked me what I want and when I want it ready, they even came to my room to tell me the breakfast is ready for me). I left this place because it was far from where I need to be everyday and was little pricey for me, but after seeing the other places, I realized the price was excellent. Note 1: the owners barely speak any English, so a translating app would sure come in handy Note 2: its ok to leave food in airtight containers otherwise ants will come Note 3: its best to have a bicycle or scooter(you can rent in lampang) when staying here

very clean rooms. every piece of goods selected by owner and design very good, high quality. relax and enjoy with delicious breakfast. owner is very kind and helpful. i wish they will earn more and more because they work nice. their aim is make customer comfortable not making money. they know how to behave people. if we will stay again in Lampang, we no need to search any hotel because u cant find better than this. 10 star.

+++++ The staff were extremely helpful. Communication was not easy between us but they took the effort to understand our needs. As public transport in Lampang is not easy, they managed to get us a driver to help us get around easily. They communicated with the driver to ensure that we get to our destinations easily. +++++ The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. For the price I paid, it’s really value for money!

Good room, breakfast included. That day they served pork soup. Excellent service, feels like a family business. If using GPS, should choose the route that enters from the main road because it will lead to the back alley.
