“Hotel Review – Anniversary Stay (August 23–25)”
We stayed at the hotel for our anniversary, and overall, our experience was just splendid! (Pardon the pun.) From the moment we arrived until checkout, we felt well taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Architecture & Ambiance The hotel’s architecture is gorgeous, and the view from the pool was breathtaking. The surroundings are serene, and the location is excellent—close to restaurants, Twin Lakes, convenience stores, and other essentials. Amenities The hotel offered a wide range of amenities, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We tried bowling (₱300 per person per game) and badminton (₱250 per person per hour). We also made full use of the pool and fitness center, both complimentary for in-house guests. Everything was well-maintained, and shuttle service to the country club where the amenities are located was very convenient. Service & Staff Check-in at 4 PM was smooth, with no lines at reception despite the long weekend crowd (we were glad to have skipped the 2 PM rush). The guards at the lobby were informative and helpful, while the bellboys were friendly and accommodating, even chatting with us about the hotel. Housekeeping was quick to respond when we noticed a minor stain on the duvet cover; they promptly replaced it with fresh linens. We also requested extra pillows, which usually come with a charge, but the staff generously waived the fee—perhaps as a thoughtful gesture since we were celebrating our anniversary. The one thing I especially loved was the staff overall. They were always smiling, very accommodating, and genuinely fun to talk to. Their warmth and attentiveness really made our stay feel special. Room We stayed in a Deluxe Queen corner unit, which was fantastic. It offered two views—one of the forest and another facing the front of the hotel, where we could even see Taal Volcano. It was a beautiful and relaxing setup, perfect for an anniversary getaway. The ambiance of the room was super nice—ideal for a romantic escape. Dining Breakfast buffet was another highlight of our stay. The alfresco area overlooked Taal Lake, making mornings extra special. The food was excellent (we learned the hotel’s dining is now run by Enderun, which explains the quality). The only thing missing? Bacon! This is just a personal preference since we love having our eggs with some bacon. They didn’t serve any during our visit, though the food - tapa, tocino, eggs, bangus, dilis, sausages to name a few - was still very satisfying. A tip: go early to avoid long queues at the restaurant around 7-7:30 am because by 8 AM, there's already a line outside the restaurant waiting for their turn. For lunch, we tried the Country Club, where the food was also good. For dinners, we opted to explore nearby restaurants like Bag of Beans and a local bulalo spot—both just a short drive away. What Could Be Improved The minor (very minor!) drawbacks we noticed were: The parking situation. Although there are many parking spaces, it’s on a first-come, first-served basis. We often had to park near the Country Club, which was manageable during the day thanks to the shuttle service. However, after late dinners (around 10 PM), the shuttle was no longer running, so we had to walk back to the hotel. The in-room TVs were not smart TVs, which would have been a great feature for streaming and relaxing in the evenings. Some of the cabinet and night table laminates were chipped, leaving sharp edges that could be a safety concern. Overall Despite these minor hiccup, our anniversary stay was truly memorable. We were so happy and we wanted to comeback the minute we left the hotel. The views, amenities, food, and—most importantly—the wonderful staff all made it a delightful experience. We would definitely return and recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway or for a family vacation near Taal.
