“Island getaway”
I read the reviews the day of our flight to busuanga and had realistic expectations. After experiencing the place for myself, I have mostly positive things to say and would recommend this place to people who are looking for a nice beach, great snorkeling spot, comfortable villas, and beautiful views. The positives: Room: Great air conditioning - it’s nice to come back to a nice cool room after a day out in 32C weather. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. The view out the balcony is fantastic. The waters are so clear you can already see a lot of fish from the convenience of your glass bottom balcony. Beach: the beaches are clean with crystal clear waters. You don’t need to go far to go snorkeling. The beach near the dock is a great place to go snorkeling. So much fish. We even saw a school of jacks. Pool: the pool is nicely situated between 2 of the 3 beaches of the resort. Making both beaches very easily accessible from the pool. It is a great place to watch the sunset. The adult pool is heated which we enjoyed. I don’t know if the water in the kiddie pools are heated as well. They probably are. Pool bar: great service from the pool bar staff. The drinks from the pool bar arrive fast because they are prepared on site. Loved their fresh fruit shakes. Bikes: you can borrow a bike from the resort for free. They have a limited number though, so if the resort is full you may have to wait until one becomes available. We were able to get bikes on our 3rd day. We enjoyed biking around the island. Staff: Everyone is very friendly and accommodating at the resort. Waiters/Servers, buggy drivers, the guy in charge of the bikes and fish feeding made our stay all the more enjoyable. Things to improve: Room: if there is a way to improve the water pressure in the showers in an eco-friendly way then stronger water pressure from the showers would be a plus. F&B: you may have to stretch your patience waiting for your food to arrive. We had dinner at the Mangrove restaurant on our last night. We preordered our dinner as they had advised. All but one of our orders started to arrive one by one about 15 mins after arriving at the restaurant. We were told that that particular dish was still “hilaw” (raw). We assumed it was in the process of cooking and was just taking longer to cook. Good thing we ordered quite a bit of food so the person who ordered that particular dish still had a lot of other food to choose from. But we were all done eating and the dish still hadn’t arrived. We followed it up and they said it was still cooking, will take quite a while, and we couldn’t cancel that order anymore so we waited… it arrived eventually. Food takes 30-45 mins but can take as long as an hour to arrive. They also tend to run out of quite a lot of things. So the first question we ask the restaurants is “what is available?” We read about this in previous reviews so we weren’t really bothered by it. Also I understand the difficulty of getting things on the island since it’s about 40 minutes away by speedboat from Coron. Overall, i had a great time and I would go back there.
