OUR CHOICE IN SARAKHAM”
I've submitted many reviews on behalf of Agoda, and maintain an honest appraisal for every different hotel we've stayed in. We used to stay at The main Taksila until we noticed that the overall quality had slipped somewhat, and decided to take a look at the Taksila Grand. If you choose to pay a little extra a get a better class room, then the Grand can oblige on most occasions. The fact that you get free WiFi, old DVD's , a moderately clean pool and a fantastic gym, then this adds up to a pretty good deal, given the fact that the hotel is just a six minute walk to the main shops and banks. It's relatively quiet, and plenty of space to park your car or bike. Sure, it's not five star, probably a 2.5, but we keep coming back here to visit the Thai family and friends twice a year, and enjoy our stay each time. Value for money every time.

best place to stay in the city”
we've stayed at the main Taksila hotel many times. over the last few years tho, the quality has dropped a lot and they are no infested with bed bugs. so we tried the Taksila GRAND, which is back behind the main Taksila hotel. the price is a fraction of the main hotel and the quality is as good. the grand has nice, clean rooms, no bed bugs, and it overlooks the pool. the pool is the best part of the 3-hotel group there. they also have a top notch gym that is included with your room. food was meager. it all comes from one of the other 2 hotels. however, the location is excellent and close to the main city area. you can easily walk to get street food or visit the smaller mall. they also have taxis and mini-buses.

Unreliable”
Room very small, dirty mouldy grout in the shower, toilet seat not fixed to the pot, aircon requires a trip to reception to learn about the secret switch for opening, wifi almost non-existant, the walk to breakfast is about 200 metres to another hotel and the walk to the road about 500 metres. Not recommended ... but I don't think there is a recommendable hotel in the city centre ... watch for my review coming up soon for an outstanding room in Mahasarakham ... but transport needed.

Nice comfortable Hotel”
Booked 3 rooms for the family. Room was clean and comfortable bed. Mini fridge with watrer, coffee and tea making facilities. Aircon was good. Bathroom shower tiles could use a good cleaning the rest of the bathroom ok. Swimming pool very nice. Hotel right in Salakham walking distance to Lotus and other requiered shopping. No breakfast but this was no problem. Look forward to staying their again next time wew are up North East.

Hotel room was very good and what we wanted. Comfortable bed, clean room. Shower tiles could use a good cleaning but the rest of the bathroom was OK. Aircon good and coffee making facilities avaialable. Swimming pool very nice. No breakfast but this was no problem. Plenty of food outside next to the hotel.

Always comfortrable place”
I have stayed a few times at this hotel and it is never disappointing. Very pleasant staff, good room and reasonably fast room service with good food. Great swimming pool ideally located. The hotel is a short walk from the main road making it a nice stroll and you are the centre of town.

Normally you will pay 500฿ Per room, booking by Agoda you will be pay 300-400฿ - location not far from bus station, suggested should walking throughout Takkasila hotel (main hotel) it will be safe and short cut - old hotel but it's clean - not included breakfast If you want to save money please chooise Takkasila grand hotel

quiet base”
Stay was ok for use as a base, quiet day and night, breakfast selection not bad but a pity they allow the fried eggs to get cold., the breakfast area is in the adjoining hotel. A 15 minute walk to local shops and food places but taxi to main shopping and city centre required. Great sized pool at the hotel with an excellent new gym beside it. I visited the pool a couple of times but it is manually cleaned and the algae particles floating around me was off putting. Our room had a couple of bulbs out and got replaced immediately when we reported it. On our way out in the morning we put our laundry in for washing and ironing and it was hanging up in the room when we got back in the evening. Our stay was pleasant enough but will probably try a different hotel next time.

Horrific bug infested hole”
If you are thinking about spending anytime at all at the Taksila grande...then...DONT...if its your only choice.then..sleep in your car..We booked for 2 night whilst visiting family, On arrival, we found the lobby to be the favourite sleeping place of the local police, yes...police, 3 of them flat out fast asleep in full uniform, with grubby receptionist and bell boy picking their noses watching us get into the lift to our room, it's carpeted rooms instantly feel extremely grubby, whilst having a bad and itchy nights sleep, (I put it down to mosquitos)... But on awakening we found the bed crawling with micro ants.. So we complained and thus given another room, on our return from visiting to inspect the room, we found it to be even more bug infested, with the sheets on the bed, only straightened from the last occupants with hair (from all parts of the body) present on the pillows and in the bed, and It stank of damp dog, we promptly left, and found a much cleaner hotel a few miles away ( your place).... If this review stops one person from going through this ordeal then it's been worth it........stay at your peril......

Sadly not as good as before ”
Unfortunately the staff are at best indifferent. Breakfast is served in the next hotel. No fruit juice or cereals the fried eggs were actually cold. I didn't go back. The rooms are large clean and comfortable. Bathroom however was full of black mould. The shower drain had no cover jus a dirty black hole that smelt. I actually complained to the manager but no attempt to clean it I would stay again it was really good previously.

The room is no clean at all. It's old but that's fine. The matter is it's absolutely dirty, a shower room, toilette, bedroom floor. There are stain in a shower room and toilette. Hair are found all over the floor, bedroom, shower room. Some ants were crawling on a table.

It's a very old hotel. ”
It's a very old hotel. This hotel has another new building which name similar with the old one, so it make me confused. When i made a booking for this hotel i thought that a new one, but it's not. It's a old one, and it very old. It was a very poor experience.
