The best hotel we have ever visited”
According with our personal rating, this hotel`s score is 10 out of 10. Or maybe it is not honest... Because this is not a "hotel" as we used to think about it. It is, as somebody has already written in reviews, “home away from home” or like house of your dear friends where everybody is ready to help you about everything. And where you are always a welcome guest. There is no need to describe rooms, location, food, atmosphere in The Mangrove Hideaway. Everything is great and excellent! Before visiting this hotel, keep in mind that it is located on eastern coast of Ko Chang which is not as tourist as western one. The Mangrove is located in very traditional Thai village Salak Phet. There are no souvenir or fruit shops, bars, and night life entertainments. The opposite side of the island can be reached only by expensive private car, rented motorbike or taxi shuttle which drives three times per day. But there are the best Ko Chang wild beaches and waterfalls which can be easily reached on either motorbikes or kayaks. There are the best Thai cafes where local residents cook national food from fresh ingredients especially for your for fair price. There you will meet very friendly smile Thai people who do not speak English but are always ready to help you. The only weak side of this area (not only of the resort but of all village) is cable Internet connection speed, which is sufficient only for basic surfing. Just purchase local SIM-card with 3G packages before staying here. 3G connection was fast enough in this area. But believe me, in this place using Internet will be the last thing you will want to do! P.S. Beware of tasting breakfasts in The Mongrove! You will get addicted to homemade pancakes, jams, freshes and other creative dishes of its cuisine! :)

Paradise”
We called the Mangrove Hideaway our “home away from home” for nearly a week. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience here and my review cannot capture all of the attention and details that the whole team put into our honeymoon stay. Everything was just perfect. The welcome we received from Olivier and the staff was very warm, the hideaway is serene and beautiful (and clean!), and the food amazing! Although I generally like to try different restaurants, we ate here every night. It was incredibly relaxing to sit barefoot on the terrace, listening to the sounds of the Mangrove forest, while enjoying our dinner (thanks Nat!) and cocktails (merci Jean-Luc!). Jean-Luc is an expert captain who organized a wonderful snorkelling trip for the guests where I was very impressed that he, along with a local boy from the fishing village, cleaned the trash that had washed ashore. We experienced a small problem after our departure and Olivier was kind enough to follow-up with us until we reached Bangkok! The team made our honeymoon memorable and we will make sure to return. We were very sad to leave, with the sentiment of having left old friends. We can’t wait to go back!

Relaxing and enjoyable, a lovely hotel”
We really enjoyed staying at the Mangrove Hideaway. The staff and management are friendly and helpful, and always available to give advice and local information. The food at the hotel is excellent, lots of fresh seafood as well as other choices. The rooms are clean and comfortable with flat screen TV, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is located in a peaceful little fishing village looking out over the water. The hotel is well designed with nice gardens and a communal area upstairs to relax in hammocks or lounges. We will definitely return for another visit.

Brilliand and Excellent!”
By using 3 day holidays, I went to Koh Chang alone. As I used Public bus and boats, it took long long time. From my condo in Bangkok to the hotel, it took almost half a day. As I arrived Koh Chang, the shuttle taxi service was already finished, I should hire a taki, but it took 1,000 bahts, as I didn't know how to go hotel, I relunctantly should pay for hiring car. Moreover, the car driver didn't take me to a hotel and just dropped me. I was totally loss where I was. The neighbor show owner called the hotel for me, and the hotel owner picked up me. The staying hotel was totally excellent. As there was almost no shop, night life place, I just relaxed at staying hotel and the beach around the hotel. The owner told me to call for the arrangent of picking me to the pier, if no more taxi. The Wai Chak beach is just 1 hour away from the hotel. To arrive the beach, I should treck in the mountain for one hour. It was exciting memory. In the beach, nobody comes, I relaxed to stay half a day. As it was the rainy season, the color of ocean was not good, and always rain and storm. However, beach itself was quite wonderful. I want to go to this hotel again in the dry season. Besides, breakfast was also wonderful. I enjoyed everyday.

Can't fault the accommodation! ”
A lovely way to explore Koh Chang away from the noise & hell that is the north of the island. You need to have you own transport to explore, we had a car which was perfect. A great palace to relax and unwind. The food options around the Hideaway are limited (there aren't any that don't involve driving accept for their own!) one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in at this price ever. Get a garden room if possible it's worth the extra baht! The chill out area upstairs is fab.

Village living at its best - A rare gem”
The Mangrove Hideaway is a perfect getaway from the bustling beaches on the other side of the coast. It's nested within a thai village. Beside getting a glimpse into local living, I was able to reach many of Koh Chang's natural attractions by cycling. Have even kayak in the mangrove and near the smaller islands. The owners are friendly, extremely helpful and would go out of their way to ensure their guests are happy and comfortable. The in-house kitchen meals are simply delicious. Due to its remoteness, getting to Ko Chang Tai to/from the jetty would be pricey if you miss the standard pick-up hours. It's advisable to call the inn before making the trip over. Likewise, if you would like to make the occasion visit to the popular side, do go in the morning to take advantage of the cheaper rates.

Absolutely Amazing Hotel”
I am a 23 year old solo traveler, which isn't the main client of this hotel, but I had an amazingly peaceful and fun filled time here. The attick zone was probably my favorite part with hammocks and calming music. They also have a jaccuzzi that they will drain and refill for you, but you need to ask in advance, as well as for the massages because they have someone come from offsite. The food... Was amazing. I highly reccomend the spicy beef and cashew but salad. The food is a bit more expensive and you can't find much else around, but I also believe it is well worth the expense. The service is also just great. I have to mention Nat, the assistant manager of the hotel who is very sweet and helped me make sure I got on the shuttle as well as any other needs. I went on a boat trip with 8 other people to an island off the coast of Koh Chang which was beautiful and they provided snorkeling equipment, soft drinks, and fruit. Because there were 8 people on the boat it only cost 400 for the trip! I highly reccomend this hotel to anyone.. And expecially couples who want to go on a relaxing retreat. Thank you!

Home kind Hospatility”
The best thing about this hotel is hospitality, you feel like home and live as if you are at home. The place is a little different and the hotel is located on the other side of koh chang famous beaches. If you are looking for beaches and crowd place. don't go here. It is located in a small village , if you want to just relax in a peaceful area go for this. if you go here don't forget to try reach wai-chang beach. the journey is different.

Wonderful 6 days at the Mangrove Hideaway”
We stayed here for 6 days in February, and had a wonderful time. It was excellent value for money, it cost us the same to stay in Bangkok for 3 nights, but we also had massages, speed boat ride, moped hire and free use of kayak and jacuzzi in that price. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Koh Chang.

A peace of paradise on earth”
This is a wonderfull hotel. As many people sad it's like home away from home. The hotel is beautifully designed, the food is excellent (I already miss the pineapple-caramel jam), the staff is always kind and helpfull. Special thanks to Olivier, Jean-Luc and Nate which made our stay one of the best holidays that we have ever had.I'll recommend it to all my friends and familly. Just keep in mind that if you do not like moto bikes the hotel situation won't suits you. Looking forward to return at the Mongrove Hideaway

Perfectly Perfect Hideaway ”
This is not just an ordinary place to stay in Kao Chang. This place is something else. You will feel that you stay in some place that far away from the town. Room was really nice, handy, clean and stylist. There are a tons of activities that you can do here like Kayaking, Driving or waterfall exploring. Breakfast is an optional at a reasonable price with high quality. You should try a coconut yam ! Staff was really nice and supportive. Love to see you guys maintain this excellent service, cheers

When we arrived, we were the only ones in the hotel. The owner and the manager were both very friendly and welcoming and gave us a lot of individual attention. It was sometimes a little overbearing, but still nice. The hotel itself (room and common areas) are all very high quality, clean, and comfortable, and the surrounding mangroves are a nice spot on the edge of nature and the village.

Green hotel comfortable close to nature”
Around the hotel is located at the east side of the island as though the business is not very developed, arrived in the choice of transportation much but I still want to say that this is a very high cost performance of the hotel, live time here let me feel good. Just arrived at the hotel, the beautiful girl has prepared freshly squeezed juice to good for us, and gave us a bottle of red wine produced in France as our honeymoon gift, it let us very surprise. Next, we found that the hotel design is very unique the entire hotel is built on the water, and layout is comfortable and clean. I like the night watching the stars on the attic platform, all over the sky stars quiet soul music is really very comfortable. The hotel's food and cooking very attentively, the price is reasonable, do very delicious, even decorate the tableware of all very interesting, it's a great boutique hotel, let's all don't have the heart to go to the mess here, the boss is very nice also very enthusiastic, and kind of beautiful girl provides us with a lot of help, thank you very, think I will continue to stay here next time.
