We came for a family ceremony in Tacloban and stayed four nights. The hotel is lovely, modern amenities, very friendly and polite staff. The restaurant caters for all with good quality food and many choices. The staff dance performance and fire show is great to see. We will definitely be coming back with our 3 sons next year. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we really enjoyed every minute and we had time to relax.

Indeed, a great property to stay at. Views are amazing. Kudos to the staff and crew, service was outstanding. Dinner buffet was excellent. As for breakfast, it was plated, but cooked to my liking. I would be here again, if only i have the time.

we were there for out 10th wedding anniversary. the place was very quiet considering it was still pandemic. needs maintenance maybe they cut some employee due to pandemic. the one that disturbs us was during night time, some noise in the corners..the pool needs cleaning.

Yes, but needs improvements on the food”
Our first contact was very disappointing because we assisted with 8 family members at the Xmas supper in Dec 2022. We said we wanted to be able to talk with each other during the dining, they replied that there would "only be an acoustic music band". But it turned out to be a total disaster because they amplified the sound so hard during the whole dinner that is was impossible to communicate with each other. Also the buffet dinner was not good (and partially cold), after dinner and some fire-dancing the acoustic band played uninspired mellow love songs and people so people started to leave even before midnight... So our Xmas was ruined. Since we already booked a room for the two of us we went back 25 days later and had a much better experience with the room this time, which was spacious and welcoming. Also the way the outdoor space is designed is very nice. If the rooms are nice however the food is not really up to the standards of the prices of the hotel, who obviously has more ambitions in their promo. The big pool is very fashionable and clean but unfortunately really too painful for the eyes (probably too much treated with disinfection chemicals - chlore?) so we could not enjoy swimming very long because the pain on our eyes was killing us... Perhaps they should think about treating their pools with a less aggressive method (like salt and electrolysis for example). And really guys do something about your food!

The hotel is beautiful but some areas and room is not well maintained. 1. Room given to us (326) had a ceiling water leak ( small). This was an old leak because the stain was old. 2. Broken door safety lock. 3. Sliding door lock was hard to engage. 4. No phone. 5. No wifi most of the time. 6. No safety deposit box in the new room ( requested to be transferred to another room). They brought a safety deposit box but left unbolted to the frame. The supervisor was ok with it. Weird. They finally bolted it after i complained. 7. You have to give a 500 peso deposit for the second key card. 8. Phone in the second room was not functional as per maintenance personnel. 9. One of the hallway door locks was broken.

If you are into nature, this is a good place to go. They have rooms in front of the beach where you can hear the waves. It is so relaxing.

Oriental Leyte Disappoints”
Pricey for what you get. No phone in our rooms to contact front desk, and my room was located on the third floor in the building where their spa is located. (A bit of a walk to the front desk to convey any needs/queries.) If they removed phones for renovating purposes, that should be told to potential guests at the very least, at check-in, to give guests the choice to be placed in rooms with a telephone. I came in tired about an hour and a half before my 2 pm check-in and wanted to check in early. It's 3400 pesos, folks! I misheard and thought 400 pesos, so they made it quite clear to me as I was ready to pay. Officially, they said their check-in policy is 3 pm, but through my third party site, it's 2 pm. They need to contact those third party sites to clarify such things so that guests know correct check-in/check-out times or any other potential issues. Amenities are at bare minimum. No ironing board or iron in the room; linens were stained, and one of my pillowcases didn't smell clean at all--like someone's head has used that particular pillow. I asked for linens to be changed. The linens were never the same color of white, and really need to be replaced with new linens. Bed blankets were not regularly washed, and I asked that mine be washed. It was never returned back to my room though. Hope they don't think I stole it. Not only dothey need newer linens and cleaner-smelling towels, but beds were not comfortable (for me, and I realize that it's subjective). A big complaint here that I want to share is that the bureau, desk, and bedside drawers all exuded a very strong smell of either old, wet, musky wood that never fully dried properly or they were treated with a possible insect repellent. That's all I can come up with to reason out the malodoriferous drawers to the point where you canot and won't place your clothes in them. AC worked great in our room, but they have an awful "corkage fee" policy which minimally charges you 500 pesos if you

Check-in took 40 minutes at 4pm in the afternoon while I was the only customer. The room was is a poor condition: mold in the bathroom, paint peeling off the wall. But some staff members were pretty kind, e.g. handing over an umbrella upon arrival by car as it was raining.
