I stayed overnight to participate in an event at Makuhari Messe. Although the facilities are not the latest, they are well-maintained and I was able to spend my time comfortably. [Positive Points] - There is a large public bath (available from 3 PM to 11 AM the next day) - Two free massage chairs - Free Wi-Fi, and wired internet in the rooms - There is a free shuttle bus from Chiba Station on weekdays, though the frequency is low (it's about 600-700 yen by taxi from Chiba Minato Station) - A coin laundry with four washing machines (two with separate washers and dryers, and two drum-type. It costs about 500-700 yen to dry. Detergent is 30 yen) - No smoking inside the building, so it doesn't smell like cigarettes (I vaguely remember there being a smoking area with about four ashtrays to the right after exiting the entrance) [Points I Would Appreciate Improvement On] - The air conditioning in the room was so ineffective that even setting it to 28 degrees, the room temperature would not rise from 19 degrees - There are no outlets around the bed - I wish they would operate the free shuttle bus twice in the morning and evening on weekends, about once an hour (this time, I happened to not go to Chiba Station on the evening of check-in day and Saturday night due to transportation reasons, and since I checked out on Monday, it was not an issue, but when I looked from Chiba Minato Station towards the hotel at night, there were almost no streetlights and it was pitch dark, so I had to take a taxi) - Most of the staff I encountered were foreigners, and sometimes there were a few difficulties in communication, so I would like at least one Japanese staff member to be assigned to each department (the breakfast buffet staff greeted me with "Good morning" and "Hello," and when I replied with "Good morning," I was then spoken to in English, which I didn't understand at all. I have straight black hair and look Japanese from any angle, so I don't understand why I was addressed in English) - When using the large public bath, I bring towels from my room, which leaves me without a towel in my room to dry my hands or face after washing. I would appreciate either an extra hand towel or one placed on a towel hanger around the sink area.
