Great waterfront view of the Mekong River. Large balcony attached to my room. Coffee shop downstairs makes delicious coffee in the morning. Short walk to the walking street. The owner is helpful and kind. Gave me lots of suggestions. He offered to take me to the bridge to cross into Laos. I would stay again

Stayed one night before heading to Laos. Fantastic location, right next to the Mekong, and very quiet. Owner was very friendly and helpful. She runs a little cafe on the property and makes a mean coffee. Recommended.

Dream come true”
My dream was to see the Mekong and there can be no better place to see the Mekong than from the front room here at The Rim. Very quiet and relaxing and friendly hotel. The airconditioner struggles with hot hot days and at night light from the street lamp overwhelms the curtains but otherwise this is a great place to stay. Great coffee available on site and great food at the small corner restaurant down the street.

There wasn't any complimentary products or amenities except the body towels, drinking water and soaps for hand washing at the room. I would expect a little more for the paid price and not expect to be charged a cafeteria price for my morning coffee. On the other hand, the hotel has a perfect location, parking space and clean rooms.

What a beautiful place to stay, the owner and his wife were the perfect hosts,was our first time in nongkhai, they told us the best restaurants to go to and they were right,we are stopping there again on our way back to Bangkok, a first class experience, tun the owner even got up early and took us to the bus station to get the early bus to Vientiane, one of the best places we have ever stayed in,the view of the Mekong breathtaking from the upstairs room,highly reccomend this guest house,if we ever go to nongkhai I know where I'm going to stay,book well in advance as I'm sure the rim will be full most of the time,also a great cup of coffee 10 stars for sure.

I had a great stay at The Rim Riverside Guest House. The room upstairs was spacious, had lots of natural light, overlooked the Mekong River, and was clean and comfortable to stay in. The coffee there was great too. You can also use the guesthouse's bicycle for free as well. But what really made the difference was the hospitality of the guesthouse owner, Mr. Theung. He took the initiative to take me around Nong Khai on his motorbike -to food stalls, a local market and park, and even to the bus station when I was leaving the city. All for no extra charge! It was truly a pleasure staying there.

Quiet spot, v.helpful owner”
Arrived early but previous guests had also left early so we were welcomed into our room by the very helpful owner who settled us in, showed us places of interest on the map and then even dropped us off at a great vegetarian place for breakfast as he thought we might not be able to find it on our own. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, he offered us use of his bike and scooter when he wasn't using them and would have taken us to the border but happened to be busy when we wanted to go but called us a tuk-tuk and agreed the price for us instead. Hotel took a little finding but that was mainly due to our driver. If you ask to go to Mut Mee (most drivers will know this as it's in lonely planet), with Mut Mee on your right carry on down this road (heading towards hosital) and take the next right to Rim Riverside. Mut Mee is also recommended for food. Bed was a little hard but that is personal preference. We had the downstairs room which is a little overlooked by the coffee bar outside but not a major problem. Room is basic but large and for the price you can't complain. The owner makes this place!

Pleasant stay thanks to fantastic hosts”
Stayed in Nong Khai for one night and chose The Rim Riverside due to its price and the recommendations from other travellers. I did not regret the decision: the room is fair according to what you pay for and the hotel is located close to all of Nong Khai's main attractions, so this would have been enough reasons already to stay here. What really makes the difference are the owners: both are very friendly, giving recommendations on the surroundings and even offer a transport to the bus station to go back to Udon Thani. They hand out bikes for a small fee in order to catch up with the city and run a small coffee shop on their premises. The whole atmosphere is very relaxing and friendly, you really feel like staying at home. Plus they have a couple of sweet dogs and a cute cat. Highly recommended!

What a find ”
The Rim Riverside us a 4 br guest house located on the banks of the Mekong River. Don't expect luxury, however, what you loose out on you gain on the wonderful warm welcome and continues helpful tips from the owner Gung. I loved this place, it was so relaxing to sit in the small coffees tea, watch the world go by and meet interesting people. The rooms are basis, but have your needs.. No breakfast, but is an advantage it will force you to stroll along the promenade where you can find a few nice places within 1 km.. Owner Gung will always offer you a lift downtown fir an evening meal. Yes a wonderful 3 nights for he, thank you for being part of my life.

Perfect location”
This is a small guesthouse, only three rooms, I believe. Lovely setting, facing the river and with a nice small outdoor area for coffee and relaxation. The owners, of which the husband speaks very good English, are both extraordinarily friendly and helpful. On three occasions they gave me transportation to various locations in Nongkhai and helped me find things or services - free of charge! They also make very good coffee. For meals, the nearby Mutmee is a convenient choice, but there are several others. The only thing that annoyed me was their guard dog, barking wildly in the middle of the night sometimes, waking me up, - but then again: the dog was guarding also me and my safety, so I accepted that. I warmly recommend this place!

All we wanted and more”
All we wanted was a view of the river and the Rim Riverside not only provided this but so much more. The owner is a sprightly man in his 60s or 70s - excellent English and went over and beyond the call of service to provide us with so much help - providing advice on eats, buses to Bangkok, and more. The amazing hospitality of this place is evident in the number of strays that have made this place their home - two beautiful dogs and the most affectionate four-month old kitten you will ever meet. Nong Khai was one of our best trips ever, and The Rim was one of the reasons why.
