Very excellent place to stay!”

The best thing of this guesthouse is the helpful and friendly staff. The location is quite good, really close to the most famous temple in Ayutthaya, Wat Mahathat, only 5 minutes by walking. Bike rent service is provided with a very good fee. Located in quiet area, easy access to everywhere. Don't have laundry service but you can find it very near to the guesthouse. The staff speaks very well English. Also got 2 free drinks in a very hot day, really appreciate it! Had a little problem in the room when we stayed but the staff quickly handled it in a jiffy. If you want to stay in there, make sure you book the air conditioned room, Ayutthaya is very hot, especially in the summer!

me and a friend decided to do a quick stop over in ayutthara. we are both on a budget, so chose thongchai guesthouse as it was very cheap. the double bed was big, and the fan worked well. did not opt for a/c. the location was great, a short walk from numerous sites and temples, and only 5 mins tuktuk from the bus station- you can easily walk it. the guesthouse itself was a bit shabby and looked dirty from the outside but inside the rooms was fine.

Great location with nice staff.”

The location was great, the rooms were nice but the only problem was the bugs. But the staff was really nice and helpful. I suppose this is the best you will get for this price.

great budget hotel”

the room was a nice size but very basic ie. older tv, toilet thai style so doesn't flush. it is in a good location. very close to a lot of sites but a little further to the main part of downtown with the shopping/ restaurants. i was able to easily walk there is 20 mins or so though.

Good for the price”

For the price, I wouldn't complain. The lady at the front was lovely. The rooms are a bit dark with an old bathroom and squat toilets (no hot water either) but still ok for a few nights.

Excellent”

Only 1 min walk to some historic relics! The staffs are very kind and they have cute (stray?) cats in the premises. You can rent a bicycle to go around from nearby shops. It'll be nicer only if the room & bathroom had trash bins :P

Musty bungalows with TVs”

it was a cheap and cosy family stay but the bungalows are so much in need of comprehensive dusting and cleaning. the rooms seem to be neglected in terms of maintenance, although you get a bottle of drinking water a day and a tv (both normally unheard of in budget guesthouses) to compensate for it. owners are a nice thai family, speak broken english so very happy to hear thai-speaking foreigners.

beautiful guesthouse”

if you dont mind the birds singing in the morning, this is a wonderful place to stay. we really liked the outdoor common area. the bathroom doesn't have a sink, and you have to flush with a bucket, but anything else I wouldnt consider authentic thai style any more. its situated nicely right next to the historical park.

ok for a couple of nights”

This hotel is really in the heart of ayatthuta near the main temple. Only 250 baths it's cheap but the only bad thing are the Thai toilets. Otherwise it was nice. There is a travel agency around the corner where you can rent a bicycle, the best way to visit the city. The couple who own it is really friendly and they can arrange your transfer to Bangkok or Chiang Mai and everywhere in Thailand

Good location, poorly maintained”

The rooms are dark with a slight musty odour. What is really odd is there is no wash basin so you needed to decide to spit on floor or down the toilet when cleaning teeth! To many poorly looked after cats around that required treatment. Seating area is poor.

The location is very good, nearby the main temples but definitely the place is not value for money. Room not clean and full of mosquitoes (rainy season but they can prevent it with net).

The hotel is in a very good location, in the central area, but the room and rest room are so dirty. I don't think I will come back here again!
