First of all, I would like to inform you that I stayed in Tokyo for quite a long time during this trip and stayed in 6 different hotels. Among them, this Itabashi Juku was the best. I will write down the good points of this hotel. (In order of ranking) 1. Hygiene: The staff literally don't just sit still. They keep cleaning and doing dishes. They wipe the soles of the communal indoor slippers with disinfectant tissues (alcohol sprayers, etc.) and wipe the handles. They also do the communal dishwashing on the basement 1st floor, table wiping, etc. (a bit exaggerated) continuously. I was really surprised. 2. Common space on the basement 1st floor... Unlimited free freshly ground coffee. The staff washes the communal dishes. It's convenient because the staff washes the communal dishes, and also, if unknown guests use the dishes, the condition of the dishes can be suspicious, but here, if you use the dishes and leave them, the staff comes and washes them regularly. 3. The basement 1st floor space is really nice. There is a collection of famous comic books (One Piece, Slam Dunk, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, etc.) I think just staying in this space alone is worth the accommodation fee. 4. The accommodation space was quite spacious. (Of course, this should be considered as a shared dormitory.) 5. There is a market near the hotel, so it was nice and fun to buy and eat. 6. They also exchange money (bills, coins). 7. There are coin-operated washing machines, dryers, and clotheslines on the rooftop (4th floor). Disadvantages 1. The area around the hotel is not a famous tourist spot. It is about 4 kilometers away from Ikebukuro. 2. There is a shower room, but there is no Japanese-style bath (ofuro). Actually, the disadvantages are just something I forced myself to write... I was very satisfied. If I go to Tokyo again, I will make a reservation here and recommend it to my acquaintances. Oh, by the way!! There is one fatal flaw. There is no elevator. If you have a suitcase, you have to go up and down the rotating indoor stairs. However, when I checked in, the staff personally carried my suitcase for me. Of course, I carried it down when I checked out.)

Not central, but what you get instead is much better. Calm neighborhood to return to, relaxing on off days. The common area is great for working or relaxing. Showers, restrooms as you'd expect in Japan, clean and orderly. Roof is not bad during the warmer months. Manager is quite attentive and friendly. The seasonal decorations are appreciated.
