The wait staff and bar staff were absolutely phenomenal! The room was clean and accommodating. However, the advertisement online doesn’t say that the casino is across the road and not connected. The same is true for the second pool and health facility. The public restrooms by the main pool were out of order the entire week we were there. And for some odd reason, the manager decided that it would be a good time to have a 62 year old lady go out and shovel rocks off the beach mid day when it was 85°. That had to be humiliating for Ann. Then they decided to bring in a large piece of equipment and have five workers try to shovel seaweed, and rock onto it. That made for a great view! The property just seems to be completely mismanaged, but has a lot of potential.
My boyfriend and I went for a baecation. It was everything. We enjoyed the resort. The staff were all nice/helpful. The only thing i dislike they never came to clean our room. The shower floor wasn’t really clean and needed to be clean. But overall I would go back and book again with them. Great resort!
The week at Divi was our first all-inclusive experience. It was a simple relaxing vacation, with just one day of sightseeing- an island tour by Sweeney, who is extremely knowledgeable and something of a local legend ($75/person), plus a taxi visit to Point Udall. The breakfast buffet was extensive and varied daily. Lunches at Oceans Bar and Grill by the beach, pool and hot tub were entirely satisfactory and came with breathtaking views and steady warm breezes. There were only 40 guests the week we were there; it was very uncrowded. Buffet dinners featured a changing variety of Caribbean food. Toscana, the fine-dining restaurant, is open only Monday and Tuesday nights but was outstanding. The bartenders can mix all sorts of cocktails even though the bars are small. Entertainment included fire dancers, a DJ and karaoke. There were also activities like pool aerobics, but we mostly just sat and read a good book by the pool, enjoying the warm sea air. The winter weather is just pleasantly warm, with highs around 81F, and of course humid. The sea is warm, but water shoes are recommended due to rocks and shells. (The beach is strewn with shells, including large conch shells.)
Resort was nice definitely a vibe at the bar by pool. Food was great at the bar drinks definitely were on point music section was great and staff were nice. Location was about 20-30 mins from everything but we did a rental and that covered that issue. However when leaving we notice we were charged a $100 deposit twice and spend 45 mins speaking with front seat to see why was I charged twice and was told they only charged 1 so I called bAnk n they confirmed they charged twice been I didn’t want to waste my vacation going back And fourth however I did get a letter stating it should only be 1 charge. I will follow up with my bank to make sure this is tooken care of.

We really enjoyed our stay at Carina Divi Bay and would definitely return if visiting St Croix again! Although we were nervous and hesitant after reading many negative reviews, we decided those are from angry people who are difficult to please. We had minimal issues and concerns. The staff were really phenomenal from check in, dining, the 2 bars, and check out. We really appreciated Rachel and Kat! The food was good, but the resort could probably use a better variety. Eating at the Italian restaurant 3 times in 1 week (Mon, Wed, Fri) was a little annoying, and I won’t be eating Italian food for the next 6 months. But the shrimp Alfredo and Bambolotti were both good! We tried everything on the menu except the catch of the day and rated the diavola lobster pasta at the bottom. The buffets were “themed,” however, the “Asian” themed buffet included macaroni and cheese, coconut breaded shrimp and jalapeño salmon. What’s Asian about mac & cheese? Lol The buffet was definitely the lowlight of the dining in the resort, with the grill next to the pool being the highlight. The Mexican fries at the poolside grill were delicious! We also really enjoyed the snapper sandwich, conch fritters, impossible burger and onion rings. Drinks were never difficult to obtain and were all very good (especially the mango colada & rum punch!). There was usually only 1 bartender that was working their butt off to get everyone everything they needed, you just needed to be a little patient at peak times. We had planned so many activities off the resort but ended up realizing that the resort had everything we needed and we actually canceled most of our adventures off the resort. The pool was refreshing on the hot days and the activities center had snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and pool floats all for fun! We also found out we were very lucky with this location, because at the airport we met many people who stayed all around the island and were covered in itchy bites on their legs and arms (mosquitos, sand fleas, no see ums? Idk) but we didn’t get eaten alive at the resort! Even with all of the seaweed at the edge of the ocean, which the resort cleaned up the best they could every other day while we were there. Someone told us it was turtle egg season, and that typically the seaweed isn’t removed at this time in case there are turtle eggs buried in the sand. So honestly we were shocked they cleared the seaweed at all! The pool is a great alternative for people who don’t like seaweed. Our room was in the area of the hotel that was not remodeled and was farthest from the pool. The roof above our bed must have had a leak because after it rained one day, we had pools of water in the vinyl ceiling cover, which thankfully never bursted on us. The resort is still working to build back after 2 different hurricanes took it out, be patient! A couple of opportunities for the resort’s future: 1. add a couple of trash cans near the pool/beach area. There is one trash can by the pool and people were NOT using out. It’s windy and it’s a beach, pick up after yourselves and don’t just leave your trash lying around! It’s an all inclusive resort, but the workers are NOT your maids. We were in awe at how inconsiderate some of the adults-only guests were. There isn’t a trash can near the bar either, so people would leave their food containers sitting on the bar when they were done and they would fly away. 2. Towel return bin near the pool. We ended up hoarding like 6 towels in our room because we had no where to return used towels that we were done with. Like, one towel after a bird pooped on it and another towel that we got covered in water and sand and couldn’t shake out. It would be nice to have a towel return bin near the pool so people wouldn’t leave their used towels on the loungers every day/night leaving it difficult for people to know what chairs were being used and which chairs just held discarded towels.
